Upcoming Events

 A typical Gilbert teacher spends five hundred dollars or more of their own money each year on supplies for their students and classrooms. This drive helps lift that burden by fulfilling wish lists requested directly by our teachers. The committee gathers donations, sets up donation sites, and gets needed supplies into the right hands, so our educators can focus on what they do best. 

  Our ongoing mission is to transform the annual remembrance of 9-11 into a worldwide day of unity and doing good, encouraging millions of people to honor each anniversary through service. Through FOTG and Just Serve, this committee coordinates volunteer events that turn remembrance into action and bring our community together in purpose. 

 This project team coordinates one of our most moving events of the year, from selecting the venue, connecting with our faith leaders, to securing the talent. The celebration features a large community choir alongside musical and spoken-word presentations drawn from many religious and civic traditions, with keynote messages from local leaders. It is a beautiful reflection of everything that unites us. 

 Our Community Wide Food Drive is a yearly effort strategically planned to restock local food pantries when they need it most. Inventory runs lowest in spring, right when children are home and reliant on meals they would normally get at school. This committee organizes the drive, rallies donors, and makes sure no family in Gilbert goes without during that critical stretch. 

 This is our newest project, and one of our most hopeful. We engage Gilbert's young people in service projects throughout the year, pairing them with mentors who help them discover the joy of giving back. The committee creates volunteer opportunities that build connection, friendship, and a sense of purpose in the leaders of our future and a celebration event in March. 

 The I-HELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program) Holiday and Christmas breakfasts are special, community-driven outreach events. These festive meals offer a warm, dignified start to the day for vulnerable individuals in our community. Committee volunteers serve the meals and help secure thoughtful gifts that make the holidays brighter for our neighbors in need.  . 

  This one is for the person who wants to be all in. For Our Town Gilbert has a handful of open board seats, and we are looking for people with a real passion for our community and the energy to match it. Let us be clear about what this is: a working board, not a sit-at-the-table-and-talk board. If you join this team, come ready to roll up your sleeves and put in some sweat equity.  Four times a year, For Our Town Gilbert hosts a complimentary breakfast that brings roughly one hundred engaged citizens together around the conversations that matter most to our community. This team coordinates speakers, food, service, and the agenda, creating a welcoming space where neighbors connect and important ideas take root. 

 Have a passion for social media, video, or simply connecting with people? Our Communications team is looking for volunteers who want to help share our message of good. This group tells the story of For Our Town Gilbert across our community and helps fuel the support that makes every other project possible.
